Beach Profile: Playa Coco

playa coco

Playa Coco is one of the most spectacular beaches in and one of our scheduled stops on our E-Travel (Entrepreneurial Travel) Adventure tour in January. Only 20 miles South of San Juan Del Sur, this has been a local favorite for many years. Playa Coco is a classic 1-mile half-moon . The rocky points on the North and South sides of the create a natural boundary to the and fantastic waves which are perfect for a safe swim.

When I was in the water last May the waves were perfect 4 – 5 foot high crystal clear breaks that softly curled over me. The white sand and 84 degree blue water are magnificent. Even with tourism numbers increasing annually to , Playa Coco is still undeveloped and virtually uninhabited. A small community of private homes, rentals and future residential developments have started to become the norm and for the moment I have not heard of any public plans for an large scale hotel resort.

My wife Paula and I spent one day at the with two other friends we met a Casa Del Soul and during the day only a handful of other visitors were to be seen. Paula and I took a nice walk from one end of the to the other and had a wonderful hour together enjoying the beauty of the area. We ate a great lunch at the only side restaurant. Sometimes I am able to find private beaches, but they do not come with any amenities, or I can find all of the amenities without the private . Playa Coco had both. Nice clean bathrooms, water to wash off the sand, food, chairs, and shade. For anyone traveling to the Southern Pacific Coast of I highly recommend a stop at this .

Today, Playa Coco is a perfect spot for the adventurous traveler who loves to find the hidden gems in the world and does not need to have 3 star service. The road to Coco is an adventure, the amenities are few, and the payoff is fantastic for those willing to venture off the well-worn path. Ten years from now I predict that this will be a resort destination and will cater to different clientèle. Not long from now a major hotel chain will make their claim to the area and create a well marketed destination resort for the traveler who wants to travel to exotic lands without the hassle of dealing with exotic. The natural contours of the land, the half-moon , and the perfect sand / water combination make this very attractive to a high-end year around resort. With that in mind, now is a great time to leverage an investment in this area.

Coastal Dreams Worldwide will showcase properties around this that could serve as a second home for the next 10 years so a person can enjoy the for its current culture while benefiting from the increase in land values as tourism in continues to grow exponentially.
